Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL), a joint venture of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), NTPC Limited (NTPC), Coal India Limited (CIL), Fertilizer Corporation of India Limited (FCIL), and Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation Limited (HFCL), has announced an exciting opportunity for energetic young Indian Nationals to join as Graduate Engineer Trainees (GET) and Diploma Engineer Trainees (DET) in various disciplines.
About HURL
HURL’s main goal is to operate eco-friendly, energy-efficient, natural gas-based fertilizer complexes at Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), Sindri (Jharkhand), and Barauni (Bihar). These units will produce high-quality neem-coated urea, with a capacity of 1.27 million metric tons per annum (MMTPA), helping to drive economic growth and enhance agricultural productivity in India.

Eligibility Criteria
For Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET):
- Educational Qualification: Full-time regular Engineering Degree or AMIE in the respective discipline (e.g., Chemical, Instrumentation, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering) with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Age Limit: 18 to 30 years (as of 30th September 2024).
For Diploma Engineer Trainee (DET):
- Educational Qualification: Three-year full-time Diploma in the relevant discipline (e.g., Chemical, Instrumentation) or B.Sc. (PCM) for Chemical discipline, with a minimum of 50% marks.
- Age Limit: 18 to 27 years (as of 30th September 2024).
Note:
- Candidates with qualifications through distance education, part-time, or correspondence mode are not eligible to apply.
- Departmental candidates (current HURL employees) fulfilling the eligibility criteria are also eligible to apply.
Selection Process
The selection will be based on a Computer-Based Test (CBT), which will include:
- Discipline-related Questions: 100 marks based on the candidate’s educational background.
- Aptitude-related Questions: 50 marks covering General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, and General Knowledge.
- Duration: 120 minutes (2 hours).
- Medium: Hindi and English.
- Test Centers: Tentatively at Delhi, Lucknow, Patna, and Ranchi (subject to change).
Candidates qualifying in the CBT will be shortlisted for document verification based on merit and vacancies available. No negative marking will be applied for wrong answers.
Stipend, Pay Scale, and Benefits
Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET):
- Stipend during training: ₹40,000 per month + HRA or company-provided accommodation.
- Pay after regularization: ₹40,000 – ₹1,40,000 with an estimated CTC of ₹13.92 lakh per annum.
Diploma Engineer Trainee (DET):
- Stipend during training: ₹23,000 per month + HRA or company-provided accommodation.
- Pay after regularization: ₹23,000 – ₹76,200 with an estimated CTC of ₹7.7 lakh per annum.
After successful completion of the training period, selected candidates will be absorbed as Engineer/Officer (E1 level) for GETs and Junior Engineer Assistant (Grade 1) for DETs. Other Key Information
- Service Agreement Bond: Selected candidates must sign a bond to serve HURL for at least 3 years after the completion of training.
- GETs: ₹4,50,000 bond.
- DETs: ₹2,00,000 bond.
- Medical Fitness: All selected candidates must undergo a medical examination and provide a Medical Fitness Certificate before joining.
- Posting Locations: Candidates may be posted at any of HURL’s units or offices across India as per the organizational needs. Only candidates willing to work anywhere in India should apply.
Final Selection
The final selection will be based on the candidate’s performance in the CBT and document verification. A merit list will be prepared based on the available vacancies, and candidates securing at least 50% marks in the CBT will be considered.
