The Eastern Railway has officially announced its Apprentice Recruitment for the year 2024-25. Interested and eligible Indian Nationals can apply online for apprentice training slots in various trades across Eastern Railway divisions.

Eastern Railway offers training in the following Trades and Divisions/Workshops. Below is a breakdown of the available slots:

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Age Limit:
   • Minimum Age: 15 years
   • Maximum Age: 24 years (as on cut-off date).
   • Relaxations: SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PwBD (10 years).
2. Educational Qualification:
   • 10th Class Pass (under the 10+2 system) with 50% marks in aggregate.
   • Must have an NCVT/SCVT National Trade Certificate in the relevant trade.
3. Medical Fitness:
   • Candidates must meet the physical fitness standards as per the Apprentices Act, 1961.

Note: Some slots are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) as per government rules.

Selection Process:

The selection of candidates will be based on a merit list, which considers the average percentage of marks obtained in both Matriculation (10th class) and ITI examinations. No centralized merit list will be formed, and the selection will be trade/unit-specific.

• In case of a tie, preference will be given to older candidates.
• Shortlisted candidates will be called for Document Verification (DV).

Merit Formula:

Example: If a candidate secures 80.58% in 10th and 91.68% in ITI, the merit score would be 80.58+91.682=86.13\frac{80.58 + 91.68}{2} = 86.13280.58+91.68​=86.13.
